YAKITORI

YAKITORI

Do you like YAKITORI ?
In Fukuoka, it is one of the most popular food with beer. Grilled chicken, pork, beef, vegetables and so on. (YAKI means grilled, TORI means chicken)
We can eat similar food in many Asian towns, for example SATE in Indonesia, GAI YANG in Thailand.

for Visitors: AB88 and Fukuoka Art Information

I am very sorry the Art Base 88 is now underconstructing and will open maybe June.

The most unique art space in Fukuoka is Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Hakata Riverain.
It is very easy to access to use city-subway, the building is connected with Nakasu-Kawabata Station.
http://faam.city.fukuoka.lg.jp/eng/home.html

There is an art gallery in same building (Hakata Riverain), named "Gallery Artlier".
"Museum City Project" has been directing this space with "Fukuoka City Foundation for Arts and Culture Promotion (FFAC)".
The Artlier is a kind of art information space, you will be able to get Fukuoka's local art information there.
There are some guide pamphlets ex. "Fukuoka Art Map 2007" (Jap/Eng) .

I hope you enjoy my city and art spaces here.

Fukuoka Prefectural Museum and Fukuoka Art Fair Simulation Alpha Committee will hold a new collaborative project, Fukuoka Art Fair Simulation Alpha 2007 (fafa2007). Fukuoka has been recognized for its active grassroots art scene supported by local independent/alternative art space and art NPOs.
[fafa2007] seeks to introduce art space and artist based in Kyushu area as well as other part of Japan and Asia, and further develop network among participants.
We would like [fafa2007] to be an opportunity for creating network among art spaces and discussing the possibility of developing a new local economic system for art.

MOVING (temporary)

Image402.jpg
Originally uploaded by ohaz88.

Gallery Artlier has moved into B1 fl. from B2 fl. in HAKATA RIVERAIN BLD., 'cause of a department store Izutsuya's renewal.
Since June to September, the Gallery Artlier stays in this floor as smaller space, then will move again into B2 with larger space. (real?)

My boss Yamano suddenly quit the job of director of this gallery, then I have been the director since June 1st, 2007.
